has anyone had experience of Glastrons? They are doing a 29ft at the show with inboard stern drive single diesel for £50k . Does that sound a good price, and are there any comparisions at a similar price?

you really really are trying to **** him off aren't you. if he sees that he will go ballistic given that - (1) they were telling him he couldn't even have diesel at the end and (2) they were quoting him more than that for the 240 and close for the 220 from memory.
oh dear oh dear oh dear

They said he could have had a diesel in a Glastron but not in the other one, what was it, Larson I think.
I looked at one of those Glastons. Also spoke to happy 'bout it. He seems to have looked at it in depth a while ago.

Are you sure it's 29ft - they had a 27ft 9" for around that money at SIBS.

I'm sure the boat handles well - but fit and finish, especially the wiring looms and wires exposed to the elements did not bode too well when I had a good look at it last year. You could definitely see how they had managed to do it for £50k compared to SeaLine / Four Winns etc... when for the same money you were looking at 23ft-25ft!

ah that would be why he hasn't pursued it then - not enough get up and go in that engine for him.
However I am with Whisper - that's a lot of diesel powered boat for 50k - although they do seem to be coming down in price a touch.

Re: Question?

Yes its 27.75ft OA with a volvo 170hp in board diesel 28 knts tops 24 knts cruise

I assume the petrol version would be faster by about 5-7 kts?, and cost less.

Question?
If you were in the Med and fancied a day charter trip with the family, and you had a choice of two of these, one with the diesel and one with the petrol which would you prefer to charter?

maybe it's the headline prices versus the total prices you create when you are serious about buying but there didn;t seem to be any diesel cruisers in the 50 bracket 3 years ago - they seemed to occupy the 65 area.
Maybe it's a result of the development of the 8-9m baby flybridge boats squeezing them down but there are a few more appearing.
Still expensive though - but we all know about volumes..........
