Just bought a copy of PBO this morning on my way to work as recommended by several members on here, and have been reading it this afternoon instead of working and its exactly what i wanted !

How could i have overlooked this one ! ?

Looks like this could be the magazine that i was complaining about not existing yesterday, it does, its just that i didnt look hard enough !

As the title.
Owners are constantly asking 'how to' questions here and being given spot-on advice so it would seem that there is a call for a hands-on DIY magazine for mobo owners.
MBY is aimed at the owner who doesn't need to know how to repair things and MBM is again moving towards being son of MBY so there isn't anything for the practical mobo man apart from Boatmart which "knows its place" and successfully stays there.

What is DIY?

I think you are missing the point as most of you are probably underwater lighting & illuminated signwriting nobs who live in marinas. PBO is do-it-yourself, swinging moorings & mud berths. It's displacement mobos & converted lifeboats - or it was when it was established.

I think the "nobs" is uncalled for here but life is too short so let's just ignore it. You're stereotyping the contributors here Searush. Many have underwater lghts or similar gizmos but also do many miles and nights at sea too, as well as crawl around their own bilges fixing/improving the boat. You're mistaken in thinking they're mutually exclusive

I'd enjoy a magazine on the practical stuff, and I buy PBO for a light read every couple of months or so. I enjoy some of PBO but I think it fails in being too basic and those sketch articles about converting a bucket into a stereo system or whatever are sometimes ridiculous. A PBO that worked in the modern world with nice home made articles rather than heathrobinson converted bucket things would be a good read imho. Incidentally I thought the MBY article on anodes was good, and that was PBO-esque
