Anyone tried cheaper alternatives to Trojan T-105 batteries?

Can’t help with your query I’m afraid but if I were in the market for these sort of batteries I’d be calling a supplier of mobility scooters to see what brand they fit. With the growing amount of those scooters out there you would expect there to be a fair few brands of ‘true’ deep cycle batteries available.

How heavy are they compared to the authentic ones? I believe most of the expense of 'true deep cycle' is the additional lead

Specs look essentially identical to the famous Trojan T-105, but less than three quarters of the price. Too good to be true, or an own-brand bargain?
I tried to google a bit for this "Fisch" brand, and all I found is the label below, that neither mentions the Company name, nor its website.
Not even the Country from where it comes from.
'Fiuaskme, that would have no place in my boat even if they should PAY TO ME three quarters of the Trojan price.

I like the phrase in German on the label to imply that they are high quality. But no information about the weight of the batteries or their source. When I spend money on batteries that will hopefully last 7 - 10 years, I wouldn't gamble with an unknown brand.

Fisch batteries mainly seem to sold by one company, County Battery, and the phone number on the label shown is that of County Battery. I suspect they're just an own-label version of some cheap and cheerful make. There are no doubt better longer-term value choices.

Agreed wholeheartedly, but not just for a matter of durability: batteries exploded are far from being unheard of.
I don't think that even the best builder can give a bulletproof assurance that this can't happen with their products, actually.
But pretty sure that's even less true of a reseller that buys something in Bangladesh or wherever and puts his own label on it....

I also looked up the phone number to get County Batteries website and details.

I wasn't impressed by lack of detailed specification, weight wasn't shown. Labelling a T-105 equivalent as maintenance free and 33% more starting power doesn't build confidence. "Tests show", what test and who carried it out? "33% more starting power" than what exactly and why use starting power for a deep cycle battery?

Not certain about it being a re-branded US Battery 2200 as that's a well known brand with a decent reputation. Why stick on a label from an unknown brand? It looks very similar in price and spec. to Enduroline sold by Tayna.

catchy phrase I guess for ignorant punters
means thinner plates as well, so cheaper :D
not interested

Dims and looks match US batteries 2200, though could be straight copy n paste. Which are common other side of the pond as golf cart / boat. Label looks like just a random image, no label on the batts. If they are 2200's then good price, who's going to try first. ;)

Yes, common con to catch the unwary. Claims sound good but are meaningless words strung together. Perhaps I can offer my version of the battery for the same price. A much better buy as "Tests show it has 330% better starting performance and 1000% more capacity". Perhaps using a Tesco AA as my benchmark gives it a slight edge but I won't mention that in the marketing material. :D:D

Pretty certain this isn't a US Battery 2200.

If they were made in Germany, I would expect that the adjective "Technisch" would be made to agree with the subsequent noun .

Haha, excellent point, I didn't notice it at first glance.
The missing "e" indeed gives away the produced competence - lack of, that is.

Produkte von eine echte Saftladen

Happens lots on amazon/ebay that a random image of the brand is added which is not much related to the product so very possible the image has nothing to do with it. Specs and image do match usbatt 2200 exactly but could well be cut n paste and just not true. It's not a common battery size and tiny bit different to t105 so spec sheet almost certainly comes from 2200. Who's first ;)

Well it looks like nobody has taken the plunge so far!
Maybe I should offer my services to County Battery as a guinea pig... they give me some batteries, I road test them for a few years, report back. Would probably work better if I had thousands of Youtube followers of course :D

The pricing of these batteries is frustrating. You get the absolutely unheard of stuff like these 'Fisch', at around £100, then the somewhat less obscure 'Powerline' and 'Enduroline' at about £125- but by then you're not far off the Trojans at £150 and it seems daft to try saving a few quid...
