Re:tug was fine but

raggies stuff was flying every where .
Well's looked quite dramatic re the spray and boats thrown from side to side.
The cheap crappy dingy (£115.00) has now got a hole in the outer gel coat !! and was upside down in the water.
The tug was just sat there looking roughty toughty, like a tug should look like !!!.
As I wanted to get on reedhawk to check things were 100% ok I had to wait as no way was I going to attempt rowing out , so we went up to see other places .
Morston had only a few sailing dingys thrown about but Brancaster every thing was to pot the only things left were boats that had been fixed re rope or chains to the ground.
Back at Wells with tide out ,just had to lower aerial's on tug , then as a gesture of good will lash up a raggies main sail cos it would surely have got ripped to shreds
Lorry turned over on A17 but no police so traffic was moving just fine !!
Major power cut so bailed out of home to lincoln for night .
cheers

Re:tug was fine but

No probs with the not drinking, it's not as uncommon as you think these days. My girlfriend lives up by the cathedral on bailgate! Shes a nurse. But if we could mange it, it would be nice to meet up! I even know of yopu in your other guise, carburettors!

Re:tug was fine but

Yep the dreaded carburetters !! it's got busy again now compared to the summer but I will be either selling the business or putting the lot away for ten yeas as a pension scheme .
Pm me when your coming over here, I just walked back past the walk this morning as Angela has to work for a living so did my morning stroll with her .
Cheers

Went to Gillingham yesterday to check ours was OK and double mooring lines.
Gillingham Marina staff were out and about every hours or so checking moorings/fenders etc. Now I know why I pay so much money!!!!

Raggies seemed to have more of a problem than the power stuff, as the leverage
of the mast was pushing them over to about 35deg. evertime the gusts picked up.

Chichester Marina was very busy with the CYC lot but I believe the whole weekend was just about uneventful. 1 rag had it's sail unravel and was trashed.
Another rag lost its fenders but thats it!!!

Slept through the whole thing on my BIRCHWOOD!!!!!!

Relaxation starts at the pontoon gate

i'll find out Wednesday when I go down - just hope the rest of the Mountgay has survived; not surprisingly (?) I don't remember where it was stowed after last Saturday - and only concentrated on the external security before leaving last Sunday!

You should have seen BurgundyBens mid river pontoon ( one of those that are secured by ground chains)
First it was one side of the river, then the other, then back in the middle. It just wouldn't make up its mind!!
If you timed it right, you wouldn't have needed a dinghy.

Re:tug was fine but

I expect to see a stanna chairlift fitted on it at anytime! Her daughter lives half way down, bloody nuisance!

On the Medway Sunday - well at the Marina actually. Apart from the odd canopy being torn to shreds, mainly caused by poor maintenance it was the raggies that were suffering most. They just don't seem to take into account that in a strong blow the boat heals alarmingly so the fenders go below the pontoon and the topsides take a real hammering. They then come down assume all was well but can't understand where all the damage has come from.

Re:Great for running

I still have very fond memories of the Dutch and German Christmas markets, all that mulled wine and hot ham rolls, plus the wonderful Christmas tree decorations etc.
