Anyone see TR1?

Earlier on the orewell?

We had to look up the ensign...

Pardon my ignorance, but who or what is TR1?

Might have, if it was the big yacht with the white ensign expecting everyone else to get out of their way!

Saw her twice - overtook her twice
Combination of last week's pressure wash and stiff breeze.

TR1 was the Sparkman and Stevens (?) blue hulled jobbie out today flying a Trinidad and Tobago ensign... Her sail number was TR1.

Loads of RYS types about.... that big white dufour aeolian (?) insisted on the ROW whilst motoring across my bow just after I turned away from shouting at you Will today... He did at least wave thanks :p.

He was headed over to you, I thought he was a buddy going over to say hello so I didn't berate him...

Hmmm... The mystery deepens... Sail number TR1 is the yachts Wanjag..... But I think the yacht on the orewell today flying the T and T ensign with that sail number ( though swmbo thinks it might have been TRI ) was the S and S 34 "Morning Tide".....

Which was parked up at woolverstone on a pontoon earlier...

Did not spot a yacht with a Trinidad & Tobago ensign, though did sail past a blue hulled yacht on a mooring a bit upriver from us flying what looked like this:

No courtesy ensign, but a HPYC burgee from the starboard spreader.

She was not a RN craft and one does not generally mix with the RYS crowd :o
Though one chap I met in Ostend a few years ago was a particularly nice sort.

And, we did get a very friendly wave from HMS Gleaner when we passed her near South Shelf

Think I may also have spotted Moody Sabre yesterday, but couldn't really be sure as the chap at the helm had hair. :p

I also thought I saw Sabre off Levington going upstream but we were too far over to give or get a wave. Mind you had plenty of waves in Pennyhole Bay later!

Yeah, he was definetly there... I nearly sank him as I lost control in a gust and rounded up.... Mind I was on starboard and he was on port so it would have been his fault...

It was nice to see so many of you out there on Saturday. The hairy one was my son. Despite the variable weather we have had a few fab days with young grandkids who have had a new and exciting adventure. Yesterday we settled for Jimmys Farm.

Getting back down the Wallet can wait until Wednesday. To Shotley today. Hunkered down in Ipswich next to Pioneer and Freebee who were both at the Fit Up. Small world
