I believe the Vulcan is up on Thursday this week at the Clacton air show, so we plan to potter out weather permitting. Anyone else got similar plans or know what time the Vulcan is up.

Website says flying times will be in the official programme. Listening to the Radio Airshow on the day might be the best way to find out.

Current plans have us en route from Orwell to Blackwater on Thurs so I am definitely interested in any detailed info re timing in advance.

Flight times will be available in the official souvenir programme. However we can advise you that flights start from 2pm Thursday & 1pm Friday. The Vulcan will be flying on Thursday and the Red Arrows will be flying on Friday
Weather and angry nasty Wallet swell permitting, we plan to be anchored off and retreating somewhere Thursday night.

On climb out 80,000 lbs can produce a lot of down wash. This is one reason why the Vulcan never flies over the crowd but operates behind the show line - at Clacton orange buoys.
Flew the Clacton display 3 times in times gone bye & this was something that always exercised our minds.
Believe many years ago a RAF display aircraft (Red Arrow Gnat?) hit a mast during a show in the Solent - don't know outcome?
