I have this boat, love the shape, it has no markings. I also have too many projects. This one is one of the more straight forward projects as it’s in good original condition and useable now but I was offered a £1000 and a tired rib in exchange. Was I foolish to hesitate?

Sorry I can not help with the boat but it looks like a typical 70s /80s runabout, till I resized I thought is it a cathedral hull but no.
What I can help with is if you resize your screen in the bottom right hand corner you can get a better perspective.
Works well for these pics at 35%.
Buggers up the typing though, so tiny you can't read it any longer.:D

If that is your garden, I can confirm that you do indeed have too many projects. Perhaps you should have taken the grand an politely turned down the tired rib. :)
 
Owens Kent

Hi, it's an Owens Kent. Very much a mid to late 1950s design, but because of its length is capable enough on small chop. Brunswick bought out Owens / Cutter and used existing designs, so that the excess fins of the later 50s were cut down to more acceptable versions in your boat. With those rails it should have a sliding hard top like the Broom Scorpio. Although US in design they were built and sold in the UK around the early 60s. More common is the Brisbane model ca. 59/62 with the deeper V longshaft UK version Bri-Owen available until the late 70s. All seem to come up more in the SW these days..

Of minor note is that Donald Healey (of Healey Marine and the motor co) copied the Kent, removing the sponsons at the transom and calling it the Healey Corvette. Despite Dover - Calais wins the Healey was not popular; the roof exacerbates engine noise and is a pain to crawl under. A CMBA member has one that was the subject of a Classic Boat article CB248 Feb 2009.

Thank u all for the input, I have only had flying visits to my computer but couldn’t crack my own password; thinking it will come to me. I have finally relented and got a new one. Since writing mg thread I’ve launched (without bung) but only had time to more, after learning some of her engine traits ... My first spare day with good water was yesterday; I arrived with my friend to find my boat 4meters below. The reason for this is I’d nipped down the day before to check her over. Rather than using the bail, or if no water the plug, for the rain water; I had been given a 2 way whale pump. Unlike the bail it gets right down below and drains as well as no plug. Only I failed to pull up the exit tube. On the incoming tide, it seems that a siphon was set up and hey presto no lift off. She’s muddy the engine and back up are in casualty, but the worst thing is half the un ripped, original seat work did go out sailing. I'm going to remember this little quirk of the manual pump. Any way Thanks again for the leads. She’s back out the water (without even a test run) for a clean up and I will check again for any marks or nos
