Thanks. It is an anchor. If it was in place the anchor shank would be held lower than the winch wants it to sit and the flukes wouldn't sit on the rubber buffer things. Worth sitting it in place to see how the anchor sits though.Hold the anchor down in place during voyages, assuming that the galvanised steel bit is an anchor?
When operating the anchr winch the link should be swung clear which would allow the chain and anchor to operate in the best position to suite thee] layour.
