I heard today that there's a new Marina mooted at Wallingford. The location to be just downstream of the Flyover Bridge. My informant tells me they're talking of about 150 boats.

Wow! Thats flood plain so they can't build houses, would be surprised if it got the go ahead.
There is a small boaty business setup in the old Carmel College boathouse, is it anything to do with that?

Roger Boseley a farmer in the area who own hundreds of acres in the area and along the river has just left after popping in for coffee. He tells me that 'they' want to dig gravel there and when finished use the gravel pit as a Marina. This is so far in the future it's not worth bothering my pretty head about it.

Similar scheme proposed between Clifton Hampden and Culham, just a way of softening the blow of 100's of heavy trucks driving through the villages.

Marina is fine but gravel extraction followed by dumping waste in clay lined pits displaces water table and in the past elsewhere has led to leakage of unwanted substances into the river.
