After alot of searching, ive now discovered that my boat was built by Leo Robinson of Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.

Anyone know much about this builder and their boats? What happened to them etc.?

Many thanks

Alex

I take it you've searched on the internet. I found the whery Ardea, a harbour vessel called the Pride of the Dart and a 24ft Broads yacht, currently for sale. He obviously had a wide range. A trip to Lowestoft might prove fruitful.

What do you want to know about Leo Robinson? Big yard at Oulton broad, built numerous private yachts, the last Wherry (Ardea) hire fleet, built MTBs during the war. Could even find a photo of him. When he died the yard was taken over by his son Neville - and went under in about 1967??? Saw a motor cruiser called Romany for sale on the Thames not long ago - used to be in their hire fleet. Old Frank

Just trawling the net looking for info on Leo Robinson and came across your old post.
I have a 35 ft Admiralty FMB which was also built by Mr Robinson, and am also trying to find more about the yard and boats. I believe that at the beginning of the war they moved the yard to Tewkesbury.
I have found a few other boats they built, a couple have already been mentioned.
One day I may also have a boat that works!!
