Hi all Saguday and very soggy crew is in Shotley tonight having rendezvoused with photodog at Wrabness last night and consumed all the ships wine stores. Got caught out in the squally stuff mid afternoon so looking forward to a warm meal and beer in the Shipwreck later if anyone else wants to join us.

Doug is a bit tender though so need to be quiet and well behaved :)

May be gone by Sat night p'raps up to Deben.

Change of plan re: Shipwreck due to apocalyptic amount of rainfall wife mutinied and refused walk from pontoon so cooked on board. Now trying to find secret alcohol supplies missed bt photodog. Suspect PD cowering in his cabin due to the noise of the rainfall. Can't see Felixstowe only lights from cranes (just) - awesomely bad weather

PD should be used to the rain having just arrived from the SW and he is probably cooking up a feast of FB pie with a bottle of Shiraz that he has had hidden for emergency use:D

He'd been the Pimms by the time we found him then it was a couple of bottles of wine chez nous. He couldn't face sailung today and motored back to Shotley.

Ask him about his missus texting me to row over and get him to call her this morning:D

I'm here!! Berth F22. Arrived soggily at 1730 from Woodbridge. We did go to the Shipwreck (in oilies) and had an excellent seafood paella. Come and say hello in the morning (not too early please).

Tried my very best to get him interested in the Borries finest but sad to say he remained a wine quaffer:D although he has been drinking the black stuff a bit lately:eek:

I can confirm PD and Talisman are 3 moorings up from us off the Ramsholt Arms on the Deben. However he declined our invitation of a ride ashore for a pie and pint in the pub, preferring his ships stores of dried pasta and pinot grigio.

A couple of moorings down are mr & mrs short3 of this parish on their rather nice HR34. We locked out with them from Shotley. Fortunately we managed the lock without embarrassment.

I can also confirm Deben mud is extremely viscous and tenacious and that not pulling your dinghy up the hard on a falling tide has very messy consequences when one comes to depart. Still, one lives and learns...

May pootle up river tomorrow and try for Woodbridge on Sunday. Tempted to try for the Auld and hunt down Fullcircle next week so consider this due warning :)

Duly noted. Bunkering ship contacted, will refuel the wine cellar off Orford Ness on Monday.
