Anyone had or got a Princess V39?

Just a comment from a FB owner.
We have discussed this many times on the forum and there are two views.
IMO, if you are intending on staying on the boat rather than taking an apartment as well, a flybridge boat in the Med makes more sense.
There is much more space on board - the flybridge is an extra entertainment area.
Usually, the accommodation deck is exclusively that.
More space to lock your valuables.
Warmer in the winter months.
Lots of benefits.
But mainly, there is much more space.
You might have to pay more or settle for an older boat but, IMO, worthwhile.

Yes we had a flybridge for 3 years, but a slightly dodgy knee means that a sportsboat is a better configuration for us. I went out on a Targa 40 previously and compared that to my Phantom 38 flybridge, and the Targa seemed to handle better in bumpy seas, and less roll when moored.

The one thing we did like about the flybridge was when moored, you were high enough to be above people walking along the gangway (like in Mahon where it is open) , and with the sportsboat people can just look in, but we will probably get one of those hanging back curtains, if we go for that.

Hi

John Boyle of MBY 'long journey home' and other crazy stunts, (he was up in the Baltic on his V39 last I heard), has one. Great boats and can obviously handle most anything.

We met the princess guys that sold him the boat in Portals, had a long chat about it, quite a feat - the sales guy did say that thats the only thing with the V39, is fuel range, and if I remember from the story, more than once they came close to running short, great video and story though

The way John drove it, yes! But it will sip fuel at 8kts if you can bear it!

So there's no wind up Helming from a fly ?
Wait a minute - they are not going fast enought ?:). Unless some other explanation ?

Yes the other explanation is that if we don't like the wind in whats left of our hair upstairs, we go downstairs to the nice comfy airconditioned lower helm;)

Hi Martyn

I bought a new Princess V39 and it was delivered at the start of the year. Awesome boat and delighted with it. Great for cruising and for living on.

If you are buying new, there are lots of options that Princess offer and happy to help you with deciding what is really useful. If nearly new, then you will need to what is available on the market.

As one of the forum posts said, there is a very interesting private Facebook group for owners and people interested in buying a Princess V39 https://www.facebook.com/groups/princessv39/.
