Prestige 440s
Previous post: interesting. I've been looking at the Beneteau Gran Turismo 44 versus the prestige 440s. One thing about the prestige that I like is the aft glass window. My concern is how one might like that and feel too enclosed. Overall, are you happy with it> What don't you like? How was the post sale of typical "chekclist" items from a service point dealing with the manufacturere?
Reply: we've had the 440s for over a year now and we've worked out some of the kinks. We really love it and it fits our family extremely well. We love the window toward the aft salon because it basically goes up/down - so typically we have the window down, the roof open and the side windows open. We love the breeze. However, that was also an issue - we live in Florida and there was no AC up in the pilot area - so we had that added.
Regarding post sales- I will tell you - we bought it thru a NEW brokerage who didn't have a clue about things. But if you're willing to read the manuals - you'll be all set. I was also fortunate to get ahold of some folks in Indiapolis where Prestige is located and they've been helpful as well.
You can google the boat test results - it was done on our boat. We actually waited For the results before we signed.
