Hi,

Have been looking at prestige 440s and 500s...on the web and at the boat show...(but not in the water). I really like them, but dont know anyone who has got one or been out on one...Would love to hear from anyone who has any experience of them.

Martin

They are VERY new models so harldy anyone would have been on one, but that 500S is something else. Takes Jeanneau (oops I mean Prestige) properly into the big boys league.
NICE!

Prestige 440s - 2011

All,
I was searching the forums and found this question about the Prestige 440s. My family and I purchased a new 440s after seeing them at all the boat shows. I had been a LONG time Sea Ray owner, but the prices seemed outrageous for the size. A broker was helping us look and we came across the Prestige line - and yes - they're very new but they've done such a great job in the Jeaneau family. We took a risk and we've been pretty impressed with the 440s. In fact, if you search boattest.com - you'll see our boat that we purchased. The one they performed the sea trial on, was the one we were purchasing at the time. Our boat was the actual one on yacht world as well as some other magazines. Anyway, we've had a couple of challenges - which Prestige was able to correct with some local contacts. Please feel free to contact me if you'd like to exchange any information.

Too many heads up asses already aren't there? :D

Just removed mine:p
Now look here Searush
Flippant remarks will just not do on here
Prestige
Serious value for money imho!
Serious and I do mean serious winds overnight hereabouts
And thereabouts too in Caernarfon
But yer boats ok Rushie
Having removed my head from a dark place earlier
I nipped to Dinorwic plus nipped to see if yer tent had done a kite impression
As you know, me arms is short and pockets is low
So that's another pint you owe me
Seriously:D

Thanks, Rich, You managed to find her alright then? I've borrowed a pal's berth up by the Trust workshop where it is a lot more sheltered. I gave up on the tent overcoat for the winter as there are fewer seagulls around now the Saes have gone home. :D Thanks for popping by.

I'll try & let you know when I'm up next. I have a nice pair of winches to fit & one of me stanchions was bent - and then I broke it while trying to straighten it. :( Got any stanchions like this one in your shed? happy to cadge of anyone BTW.

Yeh, I thought She had gone 'awol' at first:eek:
Thought the tent had been stowed!
No stanchion, shed checked but still have some cycle bits and bobs!

Two friends of myn have a 42S which is the 440S before it got renamed.
One of them is a 2008 pretty low hours about 150 as of last year and he seems ok with it, but he does not use it much.
The other is a 2009 and has 500 hours and has been pretty reliable and seaworthy. Last year did quite a trip think Rome to Sardegna, Ibiza, South of Italy and back. I think a year before was all South Italy. He seems happy with the boat too altough he had some early trouble on the Volvo electronics. This one is also ordered with patio door as he uses it all year round.
The 500 series was launched earlier this year, so now one knows much about them.

Err ....would you like someone to pop round was wash off that side deck..........outrageous..........have you no standards man :)
and as for the slack in that wire at top .....Pah !

Hi, if you mean the Jeanneau Prestige, yes I have been out on the new ones, the 500 models, one has flybridge the other without. They are great looking boats and nothing too fancy on the inside. They have nice finish and a reputation for a strong build, in Yachting Monthly's crash boat test, this month they has blown up one of Jeanneau's sailboats and despite their massive explosion it still floats. Not a bad test for a boat.

It's not just the side decks either. You are more than welcome to bring a bucket, marigolds & suds for a weekend's entertainment. It will be just as bad the following week tho.

You see the Slate Quay where I am berthed is well named & fine slate dust blows across my decks every day. Add a regular serving of shitehawk deposits & bits of crab & mussels debris from their lunches & the result is as you see. Slack guard rails? And wy do you think I am looking for a new stanchion?

Standards? They went bust years ago but their Vanguard model was a cracker with it's lovely chunky rounded shape & the David Brown wet liner tractor engine, great cars.

The Standard Vanguard Sportsman, great car, passed everything but petrol stations, regularly had 7 kids across the back seat with the armrest down and five across the front bench seat.

The only standard petrol engine to be fitted to a UK manufactured tractor.

interesting. I've been looking at the Beneteau Gran Turismo 44 versus the prestige 440s. One thing about the prestige that I like is the aft glass window. My concern is how one might like that and feel too enclosed. Overall, are you happy with it> What don't you like? How was the post sale of typical "chekclist" items from a service point dealing with the manufacturere?
