Hi,
I'm considering the Garmin 3010c and GMR18 chartplotter and radar combination at present as it is very good value. I have found one review using the older GMR20 radar and it was not very positive about the radar.

Has anyone used a 3010c with the new GMR18 -and is it any good?

YBW Review of GMR20

Many thanks,
Chris

Pal of mine has installed a 3010C and GMR 404 open array radar this summer, and he's very happy with it. He's been happily using Raymarine radar for years on previous boats (ie E120 + R80CRC) but he is very impressed with the Garmin radar too. Garmin have always had a reputation of the best plotters and Raymarine for best Radars in the leisure sector. Seems Garmin are finally getting their radar act together. The 3010C is a master piece of networkable kit, and I like Garmin BlueCharts presentation. You won't be disappointed.

I've used the Garmin 2010 (ie non networked version of 3010) before and now the 2106 on our current boat, with a raymarine C80 2kw Radar (ie best of both worlds and redundancy). But I always use the Garmin for plotting and route planning due to their superior PC route planning software (ie MapSource). The 3010C also works with BlueChart G2 data cards.
