My sprayhood is in the N-H shed at Rhu, and I am due to go from Galloway to the boat at Port Bannatyne tomorrow and then to Ardrishaig on Saturday. We can cope without a sprayhood, but if anyone is heading south or west from Rhu and could bring the thing along I'd be awful greatful ...

They delivered a sail after repair for us yesterday to Kip and also offered several other drop off points
Ardrishaig might not out of the question

Thanks. It was only a thirty quid patching job, so I don't want trespass on their kindness. Or, frankly, pay much ...

My granddaughter plans to come up from Glasgow to Ardrishaig to work on the Canal with us next week, prior to her French holiday when she will then spend the money raised (extorted?). Rhu is not a big diversion. However because of the very full social diary that 12 year olds have these days she can not make it before Monday and you are planning to transit on Sunday, so probably not much help.
Looking at the weather forecast, it looks as if you might not need the hood for a week or so at least? We are suffering from the distinctly un Scottish heat and sunshine here so much that we are considering curtailing our operations to the first half of the day and taking a siesta from around 13-00.

Thanks. Q. If all goes to plan we'll be through on Sunday, spend Monday recovering in Crinan and then wheech up through the Sound of Luing on Monday afternoon/evening with the last of the flood. So maybe a possibility there.

driving from dumbarton to tayvallich fri night after work, then taking a boat to crinan at some point over the weekend - not sure if this is any use? etc (i'm assuming you are heading for canal?)

That could work brilliantly ... PM on its way.

If Bikedaft is moving on and needs a location to drop of the hood, our boat (Corona) is lying in Crinan basin on the 'knuckle' just beside the sea lock entrance, or alternatively I could take it from him in Lochgilphead on the way past.

Many thanks. OK if I raft up alongside you? I like the knuckle, because my wifi antenna picks up the coffee shop nicely there ...

will text you tonight when i get it from rhu. see you sat ardrishaig or somewhere between there and crinan, or failing that i will put in quandary's boat - cheers

Thank you very much - that's very kind of you. Our plans have changed a wee bit, and we now plan to arrive in Ardrishaig about midnight tomorrow (Saturday).

Sprayhood in port cockpit locker of Corona - thanks Quandary! It was the only sprayhood in NH shed so hope its yours ? (no name on it)

Retrieved, fitted, providing welcome shelter. Many thanks, both. My golly, Corona is smartly kept.

You did not spot the traces of a full tin of tinted Woodskin that had recently been kicked down the side deck then, good, all this sun must be bleaching it.
