Anyone bought a new Najad 405.

Do you REALLY want one? They are a lovely boat but I think even Najad would admit that the Interior designer they employed has gone over the top. Think very hard about the practicality you want when on board. The interior joinery is lovely but there is a lot of wasted space with headlining material just there to 'offset' the wood. If you only use it for the weekend it would probably be OK.

It might be good to wait until the new 'style' has settled down a bit. Comfortina seem to be making the best of this kind of design, but their boats a spoiled by a crap plastic heads compartment. HR seem to want to stick to something non-faddish (so they claim, but give it a bit).

I just borrowed a friends Najad 405 for a week

Great boat - it really sails well, its almost as quick as the new najad 440. I found the interior worked fine for our family of 4 plus the kids bought 3 of their friends. so some slept in the cockpit.

The modern style seat cushions arnt quite as comfortable as on the older boats, but the interiors a lot brighter with the new styling.
