Been on here for a good part of 2011 but only as a posting forumite. Are the East Coast do's open to newcomers (in the forum sense)? Only we see other boats on the river regularly eg Guapa (to pick an obvious one) and there's a strong curiosity about the contents of said. If so, where, when etc?

The East Coast Forum gatherings are open to all.

The usual get togethers are:-

The Fit-up supper - Early April-ish - No one has come forward with a suggested venue yet.

Oosende weekend - Last weekend of May - May not be many going this year due to the Red Diesel Issue. I may suggest an alternative - Limehouse in London?

Pirate Weekend - Stone Point - Walton Backwaters - Early July - Phoenix's ball on the date of that one.

Laying-down supper - Mid to Late October - Venue TBA.

There are quite a few informal meets that may or may not appear on here.

There is a sticky thread up top with a list of forum members and their boat details
May be time for a photo parade of the forum boats to help recognition.

I like the Limehouse idea too, but would like to offer an alternative as well to include possibly the southernmost limit of the ECF and suggest Dover?
l actually really like it there and there is lots do do if weatherbound (castle, wartime tunnels, ferry to Belgium :) )

Dear Sir,

Please update your records.
No ferry sailings on the Belgium-Dover route.
If a ferry service to/from Belgium is essential, I would suggest Ramsgate (or Hull ).

Sincerely,

Guapa - navigating by ferry since 2001 :o;)

As a fringe member of the ECF, can I sound a word of warning, some of the ECF are mad, bad and dangerous to know. Exposure to them causes loss of motor function, severe head aches and general malaise.

Think Bullingdon club in Mustos.

Invidious to name names, but Full Circle is best avoided.:)
