Anybody getting a new boat for Christmas?

I'm hopeing the new heater I have ordered will make my MAB feel like a new boat, and I'm prommised a December invoice so I'm expecting to pay 15% VAT too.

The elves probably won't be able to deliver it untill January though :o(

Never ever never, and I mean never ever ever, would I ever ever ever think about ever buying a new boat again. Not now, not ever, not never never never.
Not even for 2.5%.
Never, geddit?
And I mean that. Never, alright?

erm...... I think I get the picture. Never mind, you don't have a new boat now so everything should be fine.

No new boat, a new inverter and some sailing gear from the shop - although might have a look at marthon leisure for some other bits!

As to the VAT, well we must pay this regardless! So no

Can the table be used as a boat?

Yep, I am remodelling the old table.

I know somebody is but he is keeping it quiet in case Santa lets him down.

Shouldnt be a problem, as the boat is near Lapland already.

Anybody else trying to beat the VAT increase??

I'm supposed to be picking up a "new" dinghy I bought on eBay. Mind you, the people who "sold" it too me haven't answered any communications since I paid, so my Christmas treat looks like being a trip to moneyclaimonline instead. Grrrrrrr.

Just bought a sit on Kayak to entertain the kids.

Not many buying new boats this year......bad news for brokers.....oh dear that's me.

I am expecting that nice man from the timber yard to deliver a modest quantity of Christmas ''teak''.

Which could I suppose be butchered and whittled into some form of new wooden boat ?

Otoh Santa came early this year but the order got mixed up and it was definitely ( but nicely) a bit more MAB than shiny new SkandiViking Yacht..

I get the impression that Full Circle could carve a career showing the French how to do it right?

Actually the closest I have been to shopping for a new boat at christmas was when I went round 4 yachts in late November 2008 with my former boss. His wife wanted him to part with $2,500,000 on a 70ft Hinckley! But he loved his 57ft yacht so much he decided he wanted a sailing boat with class that was also practical that he could skipper apposed to a boat that required $25,000 worth of varnishing per year and me to skipper. I am happy he choose the latter I would have had to up my cleaning by 3 hours per day!

I have spent a career in locked horns competition with French entities, and I would call it an honourable draw.

Perhaps you can calls yours, the fully engineered '' Export model" then.

At least you only need one range of spanners with the Europeans
