Anybody Else Cancelled Their Easter Sail

We came to the land of London this weekend as a short beat (motor!) out of the Medway made a downhill sail up the Thames easy.

Just been into Ocean Leisure on the Embankment and bought a Musto balaclava thing so we can get home!

A pleasant downwind sail from Chichester to Bucklers Hard on Friday.

Nipped around the corned from Bucklers Hard to Swanwick Saturday morning.

A sunny beat from Swanwick to Chichester Sunday.

Cracking weekend!

If I can just work out how, I may even post some video.............. Wrestling with .MOV formats and massive file sizes at the moment (camera's a new toy). Not too good at the techie stuff!!

My first YouTube video!!

A short excerpt from our beat back to Chichester from Swanwick.

The Solent was virtually empty - apart from this group of yachts who were assembling for their race!

I should, perhaps, point out that my wife's actually a size 10. She feels the cold!!

Cheers,

Rob

Yes, a very big event - we stopped off on the (sadly broken) pontoon at Cumbrae to spectate on our way back to Largs.

Very cold - but otherwise great sailing weather for them, sunshine and a good breeze. The cats, 29ers and 420s were going fantastically in the breeze.

Chilly for those in the RIBs and committee boat - and a huge beat home after the racing for Lasers who seemed to be over near Rothesay!

PS And 4 great sailing days for us, all breezy and sunny (but also cold)

A very bracing sail south from Porthmadog to Barmouth today. Gusts at the top end of a 6. Bloody freezing. Now resting aground and alongside the wall - forum burgee well extended.
