Ours is the opposite. From cold, turning the key to the starter position does nothing for up to about 5 times. After this the solenoid will start throwing in and out, often many times. Ultimately it has always started eventually. It's as if a connection or something needs to get hot before it will pass enough current. Once the engine has started and run a while it always restarts.SWMBO ca has he same issue. It manifests itself when the car is hot the car been driven then left to heat soak.
She opens the bonnet and allows it to cool and it will then start.
Like you we replaced the starter motor and the solenoid does not click so it looks like the starter key/wiring connections that goes open circuit when hot so cnnot see the fault at home.
