some kind of explanation as to why is given ?

Other areas are allowing sailing as have been quoted .

The grown up thing to do is to get the HHA to amend their guidance, not ignore it. But I suspect you already knew that.

So, the rivers aren't actually closed (like you said earlier), it's simply guidance ? Outdated guidance at that.

There was a kayaker or something going across the mouth of the River at Landguard. The pilot boat was coming up to it and all I could think was '....here we go'

It went past, no entertainment there.

I would imagine nobody has their boat ready as they haven’t been able to do any maintenance this winter.

Luckily mine was launched just prior to lockdown. So hopefully I'll be appearing on that webcam over the next few days or so, rather than on the BBC 'saying idiot boater, ignores rules.' Just me on board by the way.

It’s the current guidance from HHA. That’s the problem with Boris he opens his gob and everyone grabs the interpretation they wish from his mixed messages. We’ve got families locked down for weeks In high rise flats , 50,000 dead and rising and we’ve got a few idiots risking confrontation and bad publicity in order to get on the water a few days early. Puerile is a polite term for this behaviour

What part of that from the latest GOVERNMENT guidance is open to interpretation? I would have thought their guidance trumps an East coast harbour authority.

The reason we've all been keeping off of the water is because regulations prevented us from doing so, thaose regulations have now been changed.
