Hi all, so glad I've found this useful and informative site!
I have an old fishing boat built in 1969 by Curtis and Pape in Looe, have had it for a couple of years now and until recently ran it as a charter boat.
Economic climates changed and so has my career but I have decided to keep the boat purely for my pleasure and to completely renovate back to her original glory.
She's fairly solid but needs work and any information anyone may have on this boat would be greatly appreciated or indeed useful tips on some of the jobs required.
As said before she's a 1969 Curtis and Pape I believe originally called "Ella" and worked out of Looe Cornwall for years, 37ft LOA, 13ft beam, twin screw (main and port wing engine) with forward wheel house which was originally open. Pitch pine on oak frames.
I've been told that I need to refasten a section at the stern which I could do with some guidance and the years of paint should come off so I can get a good finish, best ways for this?
All help and info greatly appreciated, old boats like this have a history and would love to find out some as well. Couple of pics attached.
