Saw this beast on the Mud flats (East bank Nene outfall in the Wash).

Anyone know what it's there for, is it something to do with a Windfarm?

only a guess but is something to do with laying cables for the wind farms i know they are being routed to that corner of the wash

They're HD drilling the export cable for Lincs windfarm at the moment. I believe it goes into somewhere near Sutton Bridge.

Sorry for being off topic, but where is your boat based ? I have a funny feeling we might have met at Wisbech or Wells, then again.........

I keep the boat at PYC (Peterborough Yacht Club) but get down the coast as often as I can, just look for the cloud of blue smoke at high tide! where are you based?

Rick (Stinkey called Sokotra)

Used to be based at Wisbech with a Princess 32, in '98 then with a Merry Fisher 805 for a while.

In 98 we had a blue/grey steel DeGroot beachcomer 11m called "Duchess".
Was your 32 called Corvioser (or something like that?), if so it is now at PYC.

Were you there on the 10th July, there was a boat like yours out in the wash with us, we stopped at the pontoon for food and then went up with the tide.

"Courvoisier" is owned by some friends of ours.

Our P32 was called Mondays Child. She was still at Wisbech in July 08, July last year we were there with the MF805.
