Although my old batteries seem to be holding up I did say I would never take a boat with dubious batteries South again . . . so have decided to take my own advice.

So I am looking for a couple of 110V 'leisure' batteries, standard jobs, nothing fancy. Budget is £200 total, so no suggestions of Trojans. AGM or Lithium please, I just want to replace the two existing elderly items.

The Hankook suggested above is out of stock so take your pick from the list in Davy-S' post

But if you want a really good battery that will last and last in the same price range look at Yuasa batteries such as this one ( also from Tayna)
L35-115 Yuasa Leisure Battery 12V 115Ah

I see the Yuasa is NCC Cat-C, whereas most of the others are Cat B, supposedly more robust for regular cycle use.

Am looking at this XDC31MF Numax Leisure Battery 12V 105Ah

It is only 105Ah, but is Cat-A

Would I miss the extra 10Ah ? (between the two )

And make sure you check the physical size, and whether you want the usual terminals or + the M8 stud terminals. Also I was advised the heavier the battery the better when comparing different makes.
I've used batterymegastore on several occasions.

Was hoping for some comments on

a) significance of difference between 105Ah and 110Ah

b) importance or otherwise on the NCC 'ABC' rating.

I note that many 110Ah batteries are NCC class C and advised as suitable for "occasional off-grid use only"

Specifically, are 2 105Ah batteries rated "A" better than 2 x 110Ah rated "C"?

I bought two 110 ah leisure batteries from eurocarparts four years ago. They were doing a deal at that time which offered a lifetime guarantee. Price was very competitive and lifetime doesn't seem to have ended yet. I will be happy to return for my free replacements if they fail this year!

Really, from what I’ve read on here in numerous ‘which leisure battery’ threads, I would say just get any 110ah lead acid battery that’ll fit. General consensus seems to be that they’re all just rebadged starter batteries. For what it’s worth I bought a Varta Hobby 110ah which was a more expensive offering at the time and I was fairly unimpressed with it. I wished I had just bought a random eBay/tayna/etc number and saved myself £50.

My batteries only get used lightly so I buy the cheapest with the correct ah I require from Tayna as I can collect, and dont pay postage, never had less than 8 years out of them, you can buy them off their ebay site or collect which is cheaper.

I have been pleased with my Varta Hobbys, in terms of longevity, and replaced with the same. But in fairness, if one applies PetiteFleur’s weight ‘yardstick’ (I tend to do so, on the basis of advice here long ago) VicS’s suggested Yuasa ones are I think only about 0.5kg less - albeit for 5Ah more.
