Anyone out there have any views good or bad about Quick Eagle windlass?

Lack of response might be telling you something! Seriously, Quick is a very recent entrant into the market. Italian made, no reason why it should not be satisfactory. Just that doubt many people here have any experience of them. Windlass market in a bit of turmoil at present with the largest player, Lofrans in the middle of a corporate restructuring - previous owner having gone bust. So none available and other manufacturers trying to fill gap. Lewmar seem to have taken a big chunk of the Lofrans original equipment market so might be worth considering if Lofrans don't come back.

We have a Quick Hector fitted and have had no problems. I know the Eagle is a below deck unit, but other than that suspect much of the internals are the same!

I have a 12 volt 800 watt Quick Genius, with 8mm gypsy. Fitted by previous owner between 2004 and 2009. It works well but it does make quite a lot of noise. I have taken it to pieces to try to find out why, but could find nothing wrong with it.

I like the South Pacific, it came out well in a magazine comparison of windlasses a few years ago, but I have never used one. Good luck, George.

As above with the Quick Genius - was on our boat when we bought her 8 years ago, and I use it whenever we anchor - which is quite often - and have had no problems with it. In fact, does what is is meant to do, and I have used the rope drum a few times as well, to get my moorings in when there is a good wind blowing.
