Anyone with experience of chartering in Antigua in (mid/late) December. Seems to be one of very few places a) currently exempt from quarantine on return and b) will let us in subject to negative test. Wondering how viable anchorages on west coast are with prevailing easterlies?
According to Sunsail their marina in BVIs due to reopen in December but uninsurable due to currently not allowing UK residents to enter

Antigua is a good place to charter. East coast anchorages behind reefs are excellent. Anchorages on West coast such as deep bay, five islands, Jolly are all excellent shelter. Falmouth harbour is a great anchorage especially off Pigeon Beach. English harbour gets too crowded for me and the attractions of Nelsons dockyard are easily visited from Falmouth harbour.
We much prefer Antigua to BVIs. If you want isolation then beaches at Barbuda are stunning and only 26nm away from Antigua.

Here in Barbados all visitors from 'high risk' countries have to quarantine for a week at an 'approved' hotel first before they are released - I heard yesterday that the Authorities will be adding the UK to this list on the 1st October, to join the USA.
Be aware that such a situation could also happen in Antigua by December - the situation seems to change every day.

I’ve chartered from Sunsail in BVIs but Dream Yacht Charters are competitive on price in Antigua and seem to have more bots - are they OK?
OTOH I thin Sunsail Covid policy is better
