I'm grateful for everyone's views about anchoring on grass - I am particulaly interested in the thought of a spade anchor.

Next question - does anyone have a foolproof antifouling for the Central Mediterranean. My previously reliable International Cruiser antifouling seems to be the staple diet of Italian barnacles that positively thrive on it. You can almost hear them munching away from inside the saloon.

Once again, I would welcome your thoughts.

After ten years in the Med I do know what you mean.
I must say the most effective strategy is to find somewhere your boat
can spend the winter ashore. This is not easy, which is why there are 600
boats lifted out at Preveza.
I use eroding antifouling for the hull and hard for the boot top, so it will
take an occasional scrub.
Some places are worse than others. My boat stays clean for two months
every summer,BUT one month in Gouvia marina almost made the prop useless.
And when scrubbing either ashore or afloat do remember that you should not
drink or inhale it!!!!!!!!!!!
