Hi all

The International Paint web site suggests 6.5 litres for 1 coat for a Sadler 29. (fin keel LWL 27 ft Beam 9ft Draft 5ft). This seems a lot.....................

I think there is a bug on their website - if you although it says feet if you switch to metres, you get more sensible numbers.

About 5 litres on our 36 footer for two good coats too, applied with small foam rollers. We tried big rollers once (very briefly!) and they sucked up a litre or so per roller on top (and made our arms ache!)

Only if your fouling is very low. You’d be trailing a reef by June if you try that here.
It's more about boat use and maintenance in my experience. We did two coats followed by a year and a bit in the Solent and a year cruising to Scotland and have not had significant fouling after 2.5 years. We did use the Scrubbis cleaner towards the end of last year twice and regained a knot, but it was only wiping off a thin layer of green. Still loads of life left in the A/F now after winter in Plymouth but we're lifting soon as we'll be doing lots of miles again this year.

Ablative antifoul needs movement of the boat which is where most people go wrong.
