I am just coming up to antifoul time again. I am also in the middle of a re-fitt, I've always had a self polishing antifoul on the hull but because it has been on the mooring for a couple of months it an't polishing!!! So of course lots of barnicles and sea stuff. My question being, is it better to use a hard antifouling on a mooring rather then a self polisher?? And before anyone asks it will be on the mooring for another 3 months at least...

I would recommend a hard modified epoxy anti-fouling paint be used since your boat sits for long periods on a mooring. You cited the correct problem.....no movement, no polishing. I don't know if they are available in Australia, but up here in the US - Florida, I use Pettit Trinidad in the color red as it has the highest copper content and my boat has been in the water for two years now with no growth, except on my prop and shaft.

I think that you should be able to contact Interlux / International Paints and they probably know what paints are legal or available just about everywhere in the world. I think their site is http://www.yachtpaint.com If thats wrong you can check with a yahoo search and they will pop up.
