Antibes restaurants ?

Lots of choice

Le Bacon, for Michelin star seafood. Edge of town, E side of Cap d'antibes, so longish walk or taxi
Vieux mur, on the old walls overlooking the sea, is excellent - somewhat high end
Elephant Bleu in old town, on the main Blvd dAguillon strip close to the port, has just opened after its refit and does excellent Asian/Thai/Chinese
Michaelangelo, 100m from above, for almost a mich star
I very much like these days the one outside Heidi's bookshop, on your left soonish as you walk from port to old market. Forgoitten name - EME will know. Mayag was there with us few weeks back. One of the few with south facing terrace (Antibes is essentially a north facing terraces town, alas)
Transat is great for big groups because it has big oval or round tables and the food is quite decent
You there at weekend?

Thanks for tips guys , we are staying in st jean cap ferrat trying to buy a boat and going to drive over to Antibes tomorrow afternoon / evening .

Ah will miss you probably. Am there for long weekend but won't get to boat till Saturday PM
Good luck with the Beaulieu boat buying. There is a mini sunseeker show coming up there soon I think
Macanderson is right - police are quite busy random breathalysing the last few weeks. The train ride is excellent

-- or even Cafe des Chineurs ? ( by Heidi's bookshop!) -- has improved immensely over the last 12 months
-- Le Vauban -- a bit nouvelle-ish but do check that they have both Steak and Fish on the a la carte. Best resto in Antibes -- but menu can be eclectic
-- I don't think Michelangelo does 'Fish' course per se?
-- Transat appeals to Steak & Fish lovers both -- can be brilliant , but also less so -- most consistent for steak
-- La Marmite

--- Up until 6 months ago I would have said that Restaurant Nacional (Beef & Wine) was by far the best for your tastes but they then changed the menu and (worse) changed the management. Im told they have in the last couple of weeks changed' management and chef' again and it is allegedly back to its best. However I won't be trying for another week or so you would be our guinea pig!
