Bit of a thread drift, but then there is the reported story which took place during the recent repaint of the Forth Rail Bridge (I say reported, as heard third hand, but from a few sources!). When painting the North cantilever, the paint contractors managed to drop a few large cans of the famous red paint from track level, which fell into the carpark of Deep Sea World below. No-one was hurt, but quite a few cars ended up with random splashes and spray of red epoxy paint.......

I had this situation last summer when I hauled the boat out for a week to antifoul and replace anodes. When I got down on the sunday a new white BMW was parked close by (without a parking permit visible) so I just got on with it. IMHO the guy was a chancer trying to save a the cost of a parking ticket in the nearby public carpark. I was careful to avoid fouling his car if possible but I took the view that if antifoul ended up on it then that was his problem .. I was'nt going to waste a couple opf hours trying to find him , get the car moved or dustcover it. I was on a short enough timescale already. He did'nt look happy when he arrived back, but when I quietly pointed out to him that it was a boatyard he accepted it.
