I own antares 760 has anyone experienced the forward port engine mount bracket studs breaking into the engine, this is the second time this has happened and I have been very fortunate to remove the broken studs.I have replaced with bolts from Volspec Marine but how can I be confident this won't happen again. I have torqued these bolts as per the manual. P S.I have never had any abnormal vibration with this engine which is a straight drive shaft to a 4 bladed prop

Have you had the shaft alignment done.

Hi, have not had or heard of that problem. Are you refering to the four flange-head bolts that hold the bracket to the block as two of which are shown here? Do you have photos of the fractures? Why were studs fitted to replace the standard\original bolts?

Hi guys although the boat runs smooth without vibration it would appear I have stress coming from somewhere I wonder if I should back the prop off and slacken the 4 main mounts and check the prop gap. When the bolts failed the pulley below the alternator has pulled in towards the idler pulley on the tensioner assembly.

I didn’t know they made the Antares with a Volvo D3 variant, only TAMD41 and Nanni. Has the boat been repowered?

Thanks for photos. I've never seen an Antares 760 with a VP D3 and I have no experience of that engine, sorry. I would certainly check the gearbox to shaft coupling alignment.

Thanks this is original engine in the boat supplied by Dickie Marine but I do agree I need to check shaft alignment
