Thanks for that. I'm waiting until he feels up to seeing people before I visit. He's now in the Belfast Royal Victoria Burns Unit, one of the Worlds best (lots of practice during the "troubles").

It's not generally available. It's ground breaking research by UK doctors at Queen Victoria Hospital. It's in the clinical trial stage, and several volunteers will have half their burns treated this way, to assess if it's a viable treatment.

Its just made the 10 o clock news on the beeb, quite a fire skipper 70% burns.
