Another (very good) weather site

No, but I've only just started using it, I just liked the clear layout and its nice to have an alternative. Hope you find it useful. I'm half converted to m/s now as we seemd to get this quite a bit around Europe now.

This site is no good, its forecasting rain for Saturday in Plymouth. I need to find a forecast with better weather else she will make us stay at home and do some decorating!!

Not if you look at the advanced map, you can zoom to whatever map scale you want, just coastal or channel views and select time and information you want to see. It zooms in and out quickly to see weather systems approaching.

It needs 5 mins playing to find some of the features, I like weather online but you can't choose the map size or select your own region so easily.

I have got this Scandinavian site on my 'favorites list'. Interestingly, recommended to me by a Frenchman, member of the RM association who hails from Cherbourg and does a lot of very serious sailing. He prefers it to the French sites, and I always thought they were pretty good (remember the difference in met forecasts France/UK prior to the 'great storm' of 1987?)

..... Do you know what data source it is based upon etc?

Weather forecasts on yr.no are based on data provided by Norwegian Meteorological Institute and its international partner institutions such as European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts ( ECMWF ) and European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites ( EUMETSAT ).

yr.no is the joint online weather service from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute ( met.no ) and the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation ( NRK ).

yr.no is unique within Europe because of their detailed weather forecasts and free data policy. Their aim is to make data as accessible as possible to the public.
