Easy tiger, Rick's a good guy. Your replies here look a bit disproportionate. Calm down.

Cheers

Oh surprise surprise Rick P I should have know that you are the answer to everything.......

Well I tell you what next time you walk past our stand (twice at sbs) why dont you stop to say hello and maybe explain what that very large chip on your shoulder is?

You clearly have the answer to everything

I thought his post was very reasonable, Duseldorf is a fantastic BOAT show unlike any other I have been to in the UK.

well, I dont read anything inflamatory in Rikp response. You say he is always on your back, but in this instance it really does read as though you are the one gnashing on the leash for no justification.
Whatever rows in the past..this time it really reads as though you have thown a wobbly. IMHO...

Storm in a teacup. If I've upset Richard_Shead in the past, it certainly wasn't my intention. I've a pm from him, so I think we'll still be buying each other a beer sometime...

Sorry Richard, but here is another forumite who knows RickP outside the forum postings and he is a straight, easy to get on with chap. Your response to his post came across as OTT.

Ok Ok its 10:00 am and guess what I did NOT have a drink last night!

I guess my response came from the fact I had been at Earls Court all day as well as meeting the organisers of LBS.

The industry is in bits at the moment with many people (including very close friends and family) loosing their jobs.

Believe it or not the organisers of lbs are doing their very best to get people through the door and support its members in these troubled times and I get a bit ruffled when people slate it.

Anyhow I have made a note to self that I will not answer ricks posts when a.) its 0700 and I am in the US with jat lag and b.) not answer his posts on a Friday night after a long day at a boat show!

I have apologised for some of my remarks and I will leave it at that.

BUT i may work for IPC but this does not stop me from having an opinion particularly when most of my opinions are based on fact.

Call me childish if you wish I dont mind as I am getting on a bit!

Right off christmas shopping and I WILL need a drink after that!

And thank you Rick for you message I look forward to that beer and we can put the boat show world to rights..

Merry Christmas and goodnight

How pleasant to see an acrimonious exchange resolve itself in a civilised way.

So often on Forum pages (not necessarily this one) these exchanges become ever more unpleasant often resulting in a flounce by one or the other.

Delighted it has all worked out.

Good to see you two have sorted this out - from an outsiders perspective, all I would add is that it looks far from professional when a member who is seen as a figure head of the publishers, from within a forum he represents, starts hammering a forum member - whether justified or not doesn't matter. I dare say most of us can be hot tempered, espiecially when tired or stressed, but in certain circumstances, it is no excuse.

A public forum is not the best place, in this instance, as airing an opinion as emotively and hot tempered as displayed here, no matter the outcome, can be damaging in the wider realm.

Just commenting as a bystander who has witnessed events like this before. Thankfully, this one had a happier ending. :)

It's a Dutch built Elling E3, which looks like this:

In spite of the tranquil setting in the photo, I think it's self-righting and certified Category A (fit for howling gales and big waves). Nice indeed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
