Another lesson learnt

I learnt another lesson today.
Keep your boat trailer where the boat is.
I have a rope trapped underneath. Perhaps round the rudder.
But I took my trailer home. If I had kept my trailer at the marina I could have pulled the boat onto the trailer at the slipway, released the rope, cleaned the speedo paddle wheel as it has stopped working and back in the water, 2 hours, then back out to sea to see what the fish think of my new fishing rod.
Another wasted day. 130 mile round trip at 25 mpg to collect the trailer.

Could you not go to the slip way & secure the boat in shallow water while you paddle round the stern to clear the rudder? Perhaps just ground the bow & drop the anchor over the stern on a very short line.

I realised in 1980 that I was not the sort of person to jump in to untangle a lobster pot rope wrapped round the prop of my xxxxxxxx 33, and I drove round Anglesey and found some divers who I gave £10 to to go underneath and release it.
The marina I am in, has a sea lock and you would not want to jump in unless you wanted to share the water with the dead seagulls, old socks dead jellyfish and boats that never seem to move but must have a sea toilet, so as I have a trailer I will use that.

Thanks for the explanation. Your original post lead me to think it was a smaller boat which might be slipway launched & recovered more simply.

The fresh information changes the situation a great deal.
