I have a laptop I am going to give away. It's in immaculate condition, but as it runs Microsoft Windows it sticks out like a sore thumb in our, soon to be, "Apple only" house.

I wouldn't want to run my business on it, but for an onboard machine it would be fine for someone who is still to see the light and swear to never use Windows ever again.

It's a Dell Inspiron 1150
2.6ghz, 512mb ram, 56 gb disk
Builtin wireless
Running windows 98
Still works on battery, for an hour or so, but you can buy a new one easily enough.
With mains charger.

I don't want any money for it, just postage at cost.

If there is more than one interested party the tiebreaker will be decided at 17:00 today by the most amusing reply to the question "Will Dylan complete his epic journey this decade?".

The judges decision, (that's me) will be final.
Do not submit your answer after 17:00 today as phone lines will be closed and you may be charged.

About as much chance as Microsoft coming up with a decent operating system.

Like yourself have seen the light. House and boat all Apple so no interest in the lappie. Guess I've got no chance of flogging a 3 year old Digital Yacht 12v Aqua pc 64Gb memory, 4Gb ram on here (pre loaded with opencpn and worldwide "not for nav" charts for £200 then ;););)

"Will Dylan complete his epic journey this decade?".
To answer that question my son one must first understand the journey and all its intricate paths. One must then decide apon what criteria mark the end of such endeavours. It is beyond the scope of this esteemed forum to think such deep thoughts. You must ask the mice!

ETA - dont need laptop but a thought provoking question.

"Will Dylan complete his epic journey this decade?"

This question is deeply flawed since, as Einstein observed (general relativity), time is relative and not absolute. Different people travelling at different speeds experience time differently.

So, to Dylan (pottering slowly around the coast) time is barely changing and he perceives that his progress is quite acceptable.

To the rest of us, rushing around in our busy lives, we perceive Dylan's progress as slow.

So, I have to ask, whose decade?

The laptop could run Linux, of course ;-)

As for Dylan, the coast of Britain is a fractal, so infinitely long, as is his journey - apparently.

"Will Dylan complete his epic journey this decade?".

No, because if he keeps turning left too quickly, he will make himself giddy.

"I never dared be radical when young
For fear it would make me conservative when old"(with apologies to Robert Frost)
On this basis I fear Dylan will stop turning left and start a veer to the right. He will then end up investigating the vortex that is Dogger Bank, and quite possibly find himself the subject of a red top scandal over which we will salivate for the rest of the decade.

"Will Dylan complete his epic journey this decade?".

"Only if he gets back on the Magic Roundabout."

As an aside, Dylan was also known as Flappy which is a good nickname for a raggie.

Crossword clue

1 Down. Dylan's all mixed up about Keep Turning Left. (4,7,4)

Punt Fleeing Trek

or

Left Reeking Punt

I suppose a Shakespearean view could be

Enter Left, Puking.

I wonder if Mr D has sent any DVDs yet to inscrutable addressees in ancient China ?

"Ah so: The journey is the destination, it is an experience in meeting people and places and in sharing and learning , ah Also, ah so ...Rsole in a hurry sometime get nowhere too, but very much quicker"

Aha: KTL: Kindly thought, laptop.

After 17:00 so may still be charged but not entered etc but in answer to the question.

Dylan's journey will end only when Seaject acknowledges that a boat is better than the Anderson 22.

No offence intended Seajet!!
