Hi, I need a couple of new battery cables. I can find loads of places that will sell me the thick cables and the crimp-on end fittings but none so far that will make up cables and end fitting to the length I require. I don't want to go to the expense of buying an expensive crimper.

Can anyone point me in the direction of somone I can use? (preferable on-line).

Thanks, G

The engine place, round the back, under the super store in Port Solent crimped up a battery cable for me. That was two years ago but very helpful.

You really don't need an expensive crimper!

I rewired all the batteries and made up the end fittings myself. You just need a hacksaw ( to cut cable to length), a hammer and a blunt cold chisel, and a suitably firm surface to crimp on. I used a small anvil which worked beautifully. Two crimps per connector, every one a good 'un !!

Wrap tightly with insulation tape, or even better, shrink wrap, and you have a professional custom made job at minimum cost. Not even worth the trip to find someone to do it for you!
