Another date for diaries.....air show at Herne Bay on August 15th, including the Reds, the BBMF (Spit, Hurri and Lanc), and the solo Typhoon. Loads of anchoring space in front of the town.

The council withdrew funding for the huge Southend air show. New sponsors tried to raise enough to put it on for one day but the council sunk them by charging £50k for road closures et al! I suppose something's go when austerity sets in but it is a shame. Who funds the Hernia Bay event?

Funded by people power. Fed up with the dead hand of the local authority, a group of local individuals set themselves up as a 'promo team' and have been working wonders in getting stuff done round here. They are good at raising money!

Just highlighting this air show again, which is steadily growing - it now includes a display by the Vulcan rather than just a fly-past. Got the Reds, Typhoon, BBMF etc.
I'm trying to find out what the mooring restrictions are likely to be, and I'll post them on here.
