Having so far faced down Trump's threats, Erdogan should be feeling just a bit Triumphant this morning.

It does rather change the 'balance' in the region, for both the huge USAF base at Incirlik AND the British Sovereign Base at RAF Akrotiri now lie well within the range of both Syrian ( Russian? ) and Turkish very capable S-400 air defence systems.

Perhaps there's a secret 'confuser' button somewhere, that the Israelis know about....

There's an awful lot more of Turkey than two air bases in reach of the UK and US forces and the Greeks would be delighted to be a staging post for any operation against Turkey. The only worry is whether or not Erdogan is behaving cleverly AND rationally....

Erdogan is a big problem to a modern Turkey, to Greece and the whole region (including yachting ) He will do anything to boost his ego, not necessarily good for his country, i see him as an egoistic troublemaker; many Americans, French , Germans and indeed Greeks would agree. On the other hand, sailing around the Turkish coast must be nice.
