It did reach a 9 for a few minutes earlier this evening granted but the forecast is 4 to 6 tomorrow and only 3 to 5 for the rest of the weekend.

The wave height recorded at Chichester bar seems low for the wind strength. Do you think its correct or is it on the blink?

Ah well, back to the usual 2.5 kts..... and it was recording a steady 9 gusting 10 when I made the posting.

Re wave height, I think there was probably just enough west in it to gain the lee of the IOW on the bar? I was puzzled off Selsey earlier that afternoon (around 1500) that it seemed not to be kicking up the sea I would have expected for 25 - 35 kts wind over tide. I noticed the Greenwich Buoy was giving very low wave heights too - unlike Channel LV which was giving wave heights of 14+ feet at the time.

Any ideas anyone?

Hope you went out over the weekend. I left Chi on Saturday morning and had a fine beat down to Cowes. Sunday with 20 odd knots of wind and a warm wind at that, gave me the best sail of the year. Monday from Lymington back to Chi was almost as good with 15-20 knots from SSW. All that on a weekend when I didn't nearly even leave the house on Friday night because of the conditions.
