And as if by magic /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re Nick's comment, yep it not as big a saloon as say a P50 but its not far off and you also have the chaise thingy bobs up for'd opposite the helm, bear in mind she is beamier than a P50 so you loose a bit in the length but gain in the width, overall though at a guesstimate about 20% smaller if that and I think looks smaller as your head is closer to the roof than on a fly so appears smaller than is. Certainly we had six of us lounging about in the saloon and all seemed quite dandy to me.

I have to confess I was very anti the galley up on the same level as the saloon and right at the aft of the saloon but having used it it really does work a treat, with both doors slid back to the cockpit serving drinks making sandwiches or lunch it so much more socialable than been stuck down in the black hole of Calcutta, the big slidy doors make the diffence on an nice day with sun awning out it doubles the size of the loafing area.

On the wood front bit of a bold move but really it does look more sedate in the flesh and I really like it, 00 boat's joinery (this one) was supplied by a different contractor as current supplier is swamped with work but from Feb 08 on our existing contractor will be supplying the interiors and I have to admit they are much better at matching the grain, the quality and finish is there at the moment just they haven't got the grain right yet, mind you in their defense there was no interior four weeks ago but she had to be finished in record time for the photo shoot so the brochures coud be designed and printed before the Launch at Cannes on the 12th. .

Christ you'd need a fulltime crew to keep her clean alone! Now where did I put my Euromillions ticket....

Question for Trev.

I like the Stern seating arrangement being a U shape, However are the U parts permanent or more like moveable seats. If they are not permanent is there a storage place for them? Seams less room (4/5) than conventional seating.

Cheers

Thanks Nautical. Good to hear they are on the case with the woodgrain, becuase if they get that right the zebrano wood interior will look fantastic.

I do wonder if Absolute are stuggling with understnading the use of their boats? A 50footer in the med will have a full time crew. Either a captian plus stewardess/cook/deckhand all-in-one person for owners who want to be chauffered around, or just a the latter for owners who drive the boat themselves. This is pretty much necessary becuase a boat like that is too big to keep shiny and all the laundry done without crew. In which case, it does seem odd putting the galley right in front of where the owners and guests sit around all day?

Or, have you found from market research that folks want to own a boat like this with no crew? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm probably echoing others here but she looks a fine boat. My initial reaction about the wood was from the pictures a bit mixed as it stands out quite a bit and i agree with others that it may date.

However i'd love to see it in 'the flesh' as i'm impressed they are going against the grain (boom boom!) compared with the opposition.

regards,

Nick
