annual berths available in marinas- sign of the times?

Well essex Marina is full. I rang today to book my visiting mooring slot for the wedding day, and without asking how long I want to stay, they said 'We are full'. When I explained that it was for my wedding carriage, the lady put me through to the Harbourmaster who refused to book me for 2 days that far in advance. Tossers.

Up at our end of Chi Harbour there are waiting lists for drying/swinging moorings nowadays, though the marinas are advertising berths. Priced themselves out of the market maybe?
