Some of you will know this boat well because it's been on the market a long time, and some of you have actually considering buying it!. However, we have taken the plunge and acquired it as the start of our next 20 year plan. :D

It comes with a tip-top survey, but does need new equipment to either update obsolete gizmos, or to replace items that are broken. There is also some remedial plumbing and a 240v system to install, but otherwise, she's pretty ready to go.

It's going to stay at Fox's for the next couple of months having some work done to make it really suitable for long-term liveaboard, then we will be moving aboard by October. The plan is to start saving, get more experience, have some fun and ready ourselves for long-term adventure.

well...that's the plan. We've got a lot to learn!

Congratulations
are you near neighbour s to us
If Fox`s are doing ANY work make very sure its buttoned-up & water tight

Congratulations. An excellent choice for your needs. Hope everything goes well. Be sure to pop by when you are down next. We are back in the water now.

Congratulations, hope you are happy with her. We agonised over her as our own livaboard for ages but couldn't reach a marital concencus so didn't proceed. Good to see her in the water again.

She's a beauty! We looked at her nearly three years ago and loved the looks and the quality but couldn't afford her. Congratulations, you've got a lovely yacht.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging and supportive replies. It's a big step for us and I have spent the last fortnight fretting about whether we've done the right thing. Still, you'll never get anywhere if you don't step out of the door.

Make sure its all in writing including time scale & FINAL COST.
Got any recommendations for alternatives? I thought they had a good reputation and the yard manager was uber-helpful and friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. Also, they know the boat well already. In the immediate term I have asked Fox's to do some plumbing amendments, instal eletrics, fit depth sounder and check thru-hull fitting. Everything else can wait if need be, although my preference would be get as much done this summer while it's on the hard there.

Congratulations, hope you are happy with her. We agonised over her as our own livaboard for ages but couldn't reach a marital concencus so didn't proceed. Good to see her in the water again.
Funny isn't it - like all good marriages I suppose it's 'different horses for different jockeys' :D Hopefully it'll suit us and be a good match.

Happy happy. Can I berth it under sail?:D
Got plenty of time to practice!

Congratulations Lisa. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures.
We're a long way off any adventures in Ocean Lady! Got some serious mortgage paying to do.

The heads was a conundrum for us, but we thought you could convert the chart cabin to a wet room/loo for family and guests and have the other one as an en-suite to the main cabin. The hull and deck are in amazing condition - it looks absolutely brand new and the lines are gorgeous.

we're not bothered about the heads as it is. The nav room was one of the highlights for us. We need an 'office' !

The plumbing problem is that although there are two holding tanks, only one is connected and both grey and black water go to it. That needs reconfiguring. Also need plumbing put in for the washing machine (which, btw, will go in the nav room...).
