Does anybody know where I can buy the little rubber mushroom valves for a 1990s Tinker Tramp? All four are perished and one leaks.

I looked on the Henshaw website but they don't appear to sell any Tinker components any more. I tried emailing but no reply.

The company in Lymington, to which they sold their remaining materials, also has a website. However, there is no sign of the word "Tinker" anywhere!

Are all Tinker owners expected to dump £2.5k of inflatable in the dustbin when the first vital component fails? How can a company abandon its loyal customers like this?

I said I was angry!

Problem was the lack of customers. I think that the company in Lymington repair all inflatables, but as others have said there are plenty of other companies who can carry out repairs.

Thanks for the information, the avatar and the job opportunity. The Polymarine site looks perfect. I will ring them tomorrow: : just before my anger management course.

Whoops Again! Apparently www.Henshaw.co.uk do sell the little rubber valves and they are called "A5 valve rubber cup diaphragms" or "mushrooms". It seems the A5 valve is not unique to Tinker inflatables and is in common use. Henshaw do retain a small stock of them but have sold all the rest, plus many other components, to Mr Scott Braye of www.ribrepair.com (Sorry, I haven't learnt how to do a link yet).

Also, like the man said, www.Polymarine.co.uk also sell them.

Tinker bits and bobs

Hi Billy,
Can thoroughly recommend IBS Boats International Ltd for valves, repair patches, glue etc and any bits and bobs for inflatables. I have used them for my Avon and Tinker inflatables. Placed several orders recently over the phone, each time the order came the next day and on one occasion they posted the goods before they got my cheque! They have a vast range if spares etc and great web site - ibs-boats.com
e mail info@ibs-boats.com

No connection with the company - just very impressed with their service.
Fair winds and tides,
