android phone with GPS for maps

I've just installed MAPS.ME which is a free mapping/routing app that doesn't require a data connection.

This is a good find. I've just installed the complete world OpenStreetMap using it, all 25GB worth. ZANavi is similar but last time I looked it would only install a partial set of maps.

In case the link wasn't clear, this is a new android phone with GPS for £42. I have one. It is unlocked and will do what you want. And if you contact them they often have 14 day returns even cheaper; I got one that had been returned by the buyer as they didn't like the colour ten quid cheaper still...

this looks pretty good

any naysayers out there?

I've been using a tablet with MX Mariner (free download and a few pounds for a local chart) seems to work fine as a back up in the Bristol Channel.
The tab was £99 in Tesco 2 years ago. Samsung with wi-fi,bluetooth,gps etc.
