Anchoring off Tankerton

1.5m draft - anchoring for lunch and a quick trip ashore on a calm day on neap tides a good idea or a recipe for disaster??

Not sure if you will find hard sand or clay that far out. Take care getting your anchor set in, and with any north in the wind. Off Herne Bay it is better to use a new gen or Danforth type to make sure it gets buried, and it may be the same at Tankerton.. There used to be mooring the other side of Whitstable street, and is probably rather nearer to the land than off Tankerton, if there is enough water there at the time you want to do this.

Presume you don't have a bilge keeler that you can run up onto the sand?

I suspect it will be both - hard sand on clay. Pye End's advice spot on.
