Up the River Medina on the Isle Of Wight. Go past Cowes and continue until just past The Folly Inn and just before Island Harbour. You can anchor on the right at the bend, outside of the main channel.

And then they’ll restart when you’ve gone west. That happened to us last summer. It was a long beat home.

Gusts to 23 knots across the deck this morning trying to get the anchor out. Mud everywhere, terrible place don't go there

The one other place in an Easterly is Milford on Sea, if you don't mind exiting the Solent, many don't. See Chiara's post on Sunday for Freshwater.

Last weekend I anchored on the eastern side of the Emsworth Channel just north of Marker Point and before Sweare Deep splits off. Very calm evening, visited by a couple of seals.

Is it feasible / comfortable to anchor in Bracklesham Bay or just S of the Hounds? I was in the Solent last year and wanted to stay a short night before pushing on east in a F5-6 NE, but didn't like to try it without local knowledge (so I went into Gosport). The chart says fS in parts and R in others!
