Our new boat (sailboat NOT A mobile harem carrier)has a highly polished stainless steel claw (Bruce) anchor and stainless steel chain so should we avoid hours of tedious polishing and switch it out for a traditional trusty rusty??:D

I saw some stainless chain for sale in Force 4 last weekend, the price label just said " £ouch - please ask! ". So I reckon if you sell your stainless chain you'll probably make enough to buy a Spade anchor that will actually work :)

Then sell the shiny Bruce knockoff to a motorboatalist, they like the bling and rarely anchor anywhere anyway :D

Oh Robin, how could you possibly set sail without a CQR on your nose? They'll drum you out of the club, you know ....

Better to keep the shiny anchor and install underwater lights so that you fit into the environment.

no underwater lights but our new boat to be Won prizes ffor it's illuminations at fort Lauderdale's 'Winterfest' parade of boats and we are inheriting all the rope lights and net lights that fill the sail spaces in the rig. ALL low power LEDS I think but we have a small generator too... There are some weird folks over here even amongst the ones not shooting at each other

Personally, I would regularly sleep with an anchor like that.
